I'm trying out 'eastern european style knitting'. It's like continental style but different ;-) When I started knitting not so long ago, continental style just wouldn't work with me and my clumsy fingers. But I was determined to learn knitting so I tried the english style (with the 'throwing') which worked for me. Then I started 'flicking', but I still held the yarn in my right hand.. I've now knitted a few rows eastern european style on my basketweave blanket and I think I'm getting the hang of it.
And of course Valentine's day is coming up, I wonder if I should make something .. A cuddly toy? A garland? mmm.. still thinking about it.. Are you making something for Valentine's day?
Continental can be awkward for first time learners. I taught English/throwing to my students (kids and adults) as it was easier. I use this method when I strand knit.
ReplyDeleteThe colorful balls are fun! I need to make some for my friends' little ones and my niece.
