I did start on a pillow cover with left-over yarn from my Chevron Winter Blanket, which looks like this:
I thought I'd stash-bust by making a matching pillow cover. I picked out this pattern and this is my progress so far:
Looking at the picture, I'm not sure I very much like it! I thought it'd be nice to have a (colorwise) matching pillow, but that it wasn't really necessary to match patternwise... Again, looking at the picture, I'm not convinced I'll love this pillow as much as I love the blanket! Sigh... there we go again! ;-)
Perhaps when it's made you shall feel differently about it or perhaps make this the back of the pillow and the front with one of the colours assuming you have enough. Tidying and clearing is good. I need organising, badly. Happy new year.
ReplyDeleteI love the blanket! You're so good to be organizing and cleaning about.
ReplyDeleteIf it is any consolation... I LOVE the pillow pattern! Great stash busting project and I really hope you grow to love it.
ReplyDeleteHaha, it's amazing how looking at pictures of our projects shows them in a totally different light! I love the blanket and I like the pillow, too!
ReplyDeleteThe blanket is great. I wonder if you lay the pillow cover over the blanket would you feel better about it. I'm was a bit iffy on the pillow cover but when I picture it with the blanket it seems to work, at least in my head... I wonder what it looks like in real life.
ReplyDeleteIt's not that easy to predict what will look great and what won't.. And the mind isn't very reliable either. It might look great one day and I hate it the next..
ReplyDeleteI think the pillow cover looks nice though :)
My son who is looking over my shoulder, thinks the cover is lovely!! I wasn't sure about the black, but the more you look at it, it blends in more - think they will look lovely together.
ReplyDeleteI like your cushion cover, its an unusual design like a quilt block....i've done a bit of cleaning, but with the kids still home from school there has been no real routine recently. I do like the new year, clean slate and all of that....I'm looking forward to some new crafty endeavours this year. Looking forward to seeing yours.
ReplyDeleteThat chevron blanket is gorgeous! I don't mind the pillow cover, but you might like it better if you rearranged the colours. Maybe if you kept the darks to the bottom and right, and the lights to the top and left you'd get a cool geometric pattern you'd like better?

Thanks everyone for the amazingly sweet comments! Luckily, I already frogged the pillow cover or else I would have changed my mind! ;-)
ReplyDeleteWhat a very pretty, wintery looking blanket. When I see such pretty crocheted items it makes me ponder taking up a hook! I hope you find a pillow pattern you like better--it would be nice to have a coordinating one to kind of make it a set. Lots of cleaning around here--and the last of my Christmas gift knitting is hopefully going to be done by the end of this week!

I put both the blanket and the pillow in my faves. I especially like your color choices and the patterns.
ReplyDeleteYes, I so need to clean and organize..I've done a few things but it seems I do more maintaining and not enough forging into new territory! LOL!
I really do love everything you do and your stitches are impeccable.
Thanks Kim! Hope you can finish your last Christmas gift soon!
ReplyDeleteSam I Am you're too sweet!
